2025 Worksite Wellness Award Winners
Congratulations to all of this year's winners! Our awards are based on the nationally recognized CDC Worksite Wellness Scorecard. Points are assigned for proven health promotion strategies in the key areas of organizational support, tobacco control, nutrition, physical activity, chronic disease management, stress management, occupational health and safety, preventive vaccinations and diseases, and community resources.
Fleur de Lis Award Winners
About ten years ago, the planning committee created this special award, the “Fleur de Lis” for companies who excel in their wellness efforts by hitting their wellness targets/goals. We are very excited to continue this award again this year to four outstanding organizations within the size categories of small, medium, large and very large.
These organizations achieved high scores on the Center for Disease Control Health Scorecard, but also provided evidence and documentation to support their efforts. Some of the criteria in the process include:
Top Management support: This is critical for success and continued implementation of wellness programs. This includes an established Mission/Vision Statement along with a defined plan for ongoing development and purpose for support.
Program variety: Utilization of various means for extending the wellness programs including lunch and learns, webinars, assessments, incentive/reward programs and classes.
Community engagement: Activities including walk-a-thons, service related projects like the Mayors Give a Day of Service and other team building opportunities.
Targeted improvement increases: Highlighted growth and improvements. For example high increase in participation rates and other success stories.
These outstanding organizations continue to inspire other companies toward wellness success.

Platinum Winners
Platinum is the highest award level, reserved for exemplary organizations that set the standard in worksite wellness. These workplaces have innovative, comprehensive wellness programs that achieve outstanding results. They demonstrate exceptional leadership in health promotion, and excel in all scoring metrics, reflecting a profound and lasting impact on employee health and well-being.
Norton Healthcare
Norton Healthcare's wellness program, N Good Health, has made significant strides in improving employee health. A Medical Assistant achieved remarkable weight loss and improved mental clarity through wellness challenges and support programs. The department saw increased participation in wellness challenges, with thousands of employees engaging in various health activities. The company developed a popular virtual wellness course, "Discovering Complete Wellness," which received rave reviews and solid participation.
American Printing House for the Blind
American Printing House for the Blind launched the Personify Health wellness app, achieving excellent engagement. The KOA Care 360 app provided mental health support, including free therapy sessions. The quarterly weekend hike club fostered community and physical activity, with employees earning extra points for participation.
Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems USA
Sumitomo's wellness program led to significant health improvements, including reduced pre-diabetes rates and weight loss. Employees shared success stories of improved health and well-being through company wellness programs. The company addressed varying internet access by offering both online and paper-based wellness programs.
Southeast Christian Church
Southeast Christian Church's wellness program focused on mental health and tailored their wellness offerings based on health risk assessment data. Strategic program updates led to increased participation, and improved overall company health and productivity. The company overcame low adoption of telephonic health coaching through increased incentives and peer-driven campaigns.
University of Louisville
UofL’s “Get Healthy Now” has made significant strides in employee wellness, increasing overall participation by 13.5%. The HRtalks Wellness initiative reached over 2,000 faculty and staff.The successful UofL Wellness Fest showcased partners and resources available to employees. Additionally, the Walking Wednesday initiative has fostered a culture of wellness and community among University of Louisville employees
Chemical & Industrial Engineering, Inc.
Chemical & Industrial Engineering, Inc. provided flexible health plans, increasing engagement in wellness activities and health screenings. Creative solutions for remote employees, such as at-home biometric screening kits, led to higher participation. The company-centric wellness program reflected company values and ensured equitable access to wellness resources.
UofL Health
UofL Health enhanced employee engagement through a user-friendly wellness platform, leading to a significant increase in Wellness Champion credits and wellness coaching. The expanded medication management program now covers 22 chronic disease conditions, improving medication adherence and health management. Monthly Employee Health Fairs provided valuable health education and resources, boosting employee engagement and morale.
Louisville Metro Government
The "Walk with the Dietitian" initiative saw a surge in participation, improving physical health and nutritional knowledge. The biometric screening and Health Assessment incentive program through the Sydney app led to a 58% increase in participants. The campaign to End Gender-Based Violence provided paid leave for victims, supporting employees in need.
Kentucky Lottery Corporation
Kentucky LotteryCorporation partnered with Barr Farms to provide local, organic produce to employees. Hosted over 25 wellness events which were promoted by their Wellness Champions. Collaborated with the American Heart Association on heart health initiatives. KLC implemented a brand new wellness program and by the end of 2024, 71% of participants were highly engaged.
Raytheon Company
Raytheon's "Pause for Paws" initiative for suicide awareness and mental health was a success, with employees benefiting from interactions with therapy dogs. The "Healthy You Experience Day" offered fun and creative wellness activities, fostering employee engagement. Health Risk Assessments and onsite screenings are now offered twice a year to help employees gauge their success and changes throughout the year.
Mercer Transportation
Mercer Transportation's wellness program achieved a 10 % increase in participation bringing them to 86% in 2024 through responsive initiatives and leadership involvement. The Rx Savings Program saw increased enrollment, resulting in significant cost savings. The company focused on inclusive programming to address gaps in care and chronic condition management.
Morgan Foods, Inc.
Morgan Foods' onsite clinic helped employees achieve significant health improvements, including weight loss and smoking cessation. The company faced challenges in engaging employees across all shifts but promoted the clinic's valuable services to encourage participation.

West KY Rural Electric successfully implemented MuuvWell, achieving high employee engagement and 80 % participation in wellness challenges. The onsite yoga instructor program saw steady participation, promoting physical and mental well-being. The company aims to reduce healthcare claims through wellness initiatives.
Gold Winners
The Gold level is awarded to workplaces with robust, well-rounded wellness programs that are integrated into the company culture. These organizations show significant commitment to employee health, with initiatives that are consistently evaluated and improved. They meet high scoring metrics in areas such as employee participation, program variety, and measurable health outcomes.
Strategic Communications LLC
Strategic Communications LLC's wellness program led to significant health improvements, including reduced cardiac event risk and weight loss. The company created the "Healthy Habits" program, offering long-term incentives for wellness goals, resulting in positive employee engagement.
Insuramax
Insuramax expanded its wellness platform to include all employees, leveraging employee expertise for educational sessions. The company introduced additional incentives, including a traveling trophy, to boost engagement. The partnership with Walgreens facilitated easy access to flu shots for employees.
Elevance Health
Elevance Health's Associate CARE Service provided concierge-like support for various issues, improving employee well-being. The Life Essential Kit benefit improved participants' diets and reduced stress related to food insecurity. The Weight Watchers agreement led to reduced member cost, increased membership, and positive health outcomes.
Silver Winners
Silver awardees demonstrate a more comprehensive approach to employee wellness. These organizations have implemented multiple wellness initiatives and/or policies that go beyond the basics. Companies in this category may demonstrate higher participation rates, more actively engaged employees, or offer more diverse programming including resources for health improvement.
ORR Protection
ORR Protection implemented First Stop Health, providing immediate mental health care and virtual urgent care, saving employees time and money. The new Parental Leave policy supported bonding time for new parents. The company overcame challenges in mental health support, enhancing overall wellness culture.
Musselman Hotels
Musselman Hotels saw a rise in wellness program participation after leveraging insurance platforms and promoting incentives. The company aims to re-engage employees and create a thriving wellness culture post-2020 challenges.
Christian Appalachian Project
Christian Appalachian Project hosted successful Health & Safety Days, offering health screenings and wellness resources. The wellness reimbursement program allowed employees to choose wellness-related purchases. Employees receive paid walking time 30 minutes a day, 3 days a week. The company addressed musculoskeletal injuries through ergonomic assessments and stretching initiatives.
